Guided tours are a nice way to spend a peaceful time on the river with the family. This is also a great place to get a fishing boat and try your luck at smallmouth bass, largemouth and spotted bass.
From your Blue Ridge cabin, you can also walk down to the Mercier Orchards located just a mile away. All can enjoy tractor tours and pick strawberries, peaches, and apples. This pet-friendly farm offers pet-friendly tables on the patio and water for dogs. The climate of the area is ideal for fruit plantation. You can find many orchards in the area that are worth a visit.
Local wineries make a large variety of wines that you may want to taste. One can also get custom branding at very low costs. At the local farms, you can enjoy homemade treats such as apple pies, jams, and cider.
If your kids are at least 12 years old, they can go white water rafting at the Ocoee River at the Ocoee Rafting Center located 12 miles away from Blue Ridge. Check out the prices and trip date and times before you get there. The Ocoee River rafting trips run on weekends in April, May, September, and October. While in June, July, and August, you can take daily trips except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Kids will also love the Lilly Pad Village where they can have a blast. They can catch Catfish, Brim, and Bass at the pond using rented rods and reels. Capture their excitement on camera when they get their first catch. Besides kids, grownups can also drop bait at the pond. The gem mining experience will stay with the young ones forever. They can find Emeralds, Sapphires, Rubies, Garnets, Amethyst and Quartz of various colors.
When you get hungry, step into the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant located 0.6 miles from The Lilly Pad Village on Aska Road. Order their delicious pecan crusted trout, smoked trout, catfish or chicken tenders. This place has a beautiful backdrop and offers canine cuisine as well. If you are looking to have a quick breakfast before you go over to The Lilly Pad Village, stop by the Iron Bridge General Store & Café located 0.8 miles from the village, also on Aska Road. Their pizza and chicken wings are worth a try.
To experience the countryside carriage ride, add Daffodil Hill Farm and Carriage to your must-see list. They also have farm tours where the kids can pet donkeys and goats. This place has the period charm that is inviting. All will enjoy riding the antique 1800’s Express Wagon.
